If there’s one thing you can say about Drake, beyond being a hugely successful rapper and Canadian, he got wholesale jerseys of sports new, it’s that the man loves sports. Specifically, he tends to like good teams, at least when it comes to wearing their wholesale team jerseys.
On Wednesday night, he performed at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, home to the Stanley Cup champion Penguins as part of his Summer Sixteen tour.
Drake started the show sporting the Penguins’ black and gold wholesale team jerseys that they’ve made part of their permanent home kit. And lest you think Drake would wear any old wholesale NHL jerseys just to pander to his fans, he didn’t put the Red Wings threads on when he performed at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit Tuesday. Just sayin…
Drake also left Pittsburgh with a pretty incredible gift. Alexa Lemieux, the daughter of Penguins co-owner and NHL legend Mario Lemieux, gave Drake a Penguins jersey autographed by her dad. The rapper called it “the best gift ever.”
Wearing the jersey of the Stanley Cup champions will do little to curtail the notion that Drake is a bit of a front-runner when it comes to sports allegiance. His affinity for the Kentucky basketball wholesale team jerseys comes to mind. But we’ll give him some credit. Like a good Ontario boy, his true hockey allegiance appears to reside with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
No one, and I mean no one, would ever accuse a Maple Leafs fan of being a front runner. That 1967 Stanley Cup isn’t getting wholesale team jerseys any closer, ya know.
